AWIP International, the global arm of the Animal Welfare Investigations Project, has concluded a vital training session at KC Pet Project in Kansas City, Missouri, aimed at bolstering the skills of animal cruelty investigators. This session focused on OSINT (Open-Source Intelligence) Foundations, providing attendees with critical insights into internet investigations and online research techniques. By mastering these skills, investigators are better equipped to gather crucial information that can aid in investigating offenders and ensuring justice for abused animals.
The session offered an introduction to OSINT methods that enable investigators to conduct in-depth research using publicly available online resources. By applying these techniques, professionals in the field will be able to enhance their casework and assist law enforcement in tackling cases of animal cruelty more effectively.
“This training is a part of our broader mission to empower animal cruelty investigators with the latest tools in digital research. By equipping them with OSINT skills, we’re giving them the capability to uncover the digital footprints of offenders and bring justice for animals in need,” said Jacob Lloyd, executive director of AWIP. “We’re committed to supporting investigators worldwide in their fight against animal cruelty”, he added.
This training, led by AWIP International, reflects the organisation’s ongoing dedication to ensuring that animal cruelty investigators across the globe have access to advanced investigative tools and methodologies.
