What We Do
AWIP Philippines is the regional investigations team of the Animal Welfare Investigations Project, focused on tackling animal cruelty across the country. Through strategic partnerships and community engagement, we work to protect and promote animal welfare.
Our success in the Philippines is built on collaboration. We partner with Biyaya Animal Care, which provides shelter and rehabilitation for rescued animals, and work alongside the Philippine National Police to ensure the enforcement of animal welfare legislation.
We Investigate
We investigate organised animal cruelty including Illegal Wildlife Trade, Cat and Dog Meat Trade, and Dog Fighting.
We gather information from the public, partner organisations, and online sources.
This information is carefully analysed and transformed into actionable intelligence, which we use to disrupt criminal activities, rescue animals, and bring animal abusers to justice.
We Rescue
We give abused animals a second chance.
When our investigations reveal animals in immediate danger, we coordinate with the police and Biyaya Animal Care to carry out rescue operations.
But the journey doesn’t end there. Every rescued animal receives the care and love they need to recover, from medical treatment to rehabilitation and eventually finding a forever home.
We Prosecute
We seek justice for every animal that has suffered.
We tirelessly push for justice, ensuring that animal abusers face real consequences.
Through filing legal cases, we fight to strengthen animal welfare laws and enforce penalties that deter future cruelty.
